About Tanner
Tanner Mangum, former Division I starting quarterback, currently works for NIKE, Inc. as a communications specialist for the Jordan Brand. During Tanner’s time at Brigham Young University (2015-2018), he set numerous passing records, was a two-time team captain, and garnered several prestigious awards including National Freshman of the Year by The Touchdown Club of Columbus in 2015.
Tanner, who earned his Bachelor’s degree in sociology, has been recognized for various roles throughout the community, especially as an advocate for mental health awareness. The Boise, Idaho native has been the subject of several local and national news stories focusing on different aspects of mental health, including articles and videos from USA Today, ESPN, CBS and the National Football Foundation. Tanner was also nominated to the Allstate AFCA Good Works team in 2018 for his unique dedication to community service and mental health advocacy.
From 2013-2015, Tanner served a two-year religious mission in northern Chile for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he became fluent in Spanish and gained a love for South American culture.
Tanner enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, snow skiing, and river rafting. He currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife Sydney and six-year-old daughter Maya.
